In March 2006 the doors of my bookstore closed to allow me to concentrate full time on a growing list of garden design and maintenance clients and to make more time available for teaching gardening classes, writing articles, and offer myself out as a seminar speaker.

Saying a simple "thank you" to the many wonderful people I've met as customers at the bookstore since 1996 seems a bit lame, but - Thank you.  You will be missed.

Books and gardening - could there be a place that brings together a more interesting group of people?  Over the years I not only had the privilege of surrounding myself with some great books on a topic that I've been passionate about for over 25 years, but had the daily pleasure of meeting people from all corners of the gardening world and sensibilities - from young children excited about their first tomato plant to botanists who traveled the world collecting and appreciating plants, and all levels of interest in-between.  Garden designers, stone wall craftsmen, plant hunting botanists, professional nursery growers, beginner gardeners, landscape builders, herbies, native plant enthusiasts, hosta collectors, perennial gardeners, arborists, environmentalists, entomologists, architects, historians, flower crafters, horticultural therapists, garden writers, photographers, artists, and more.

Two things everyone had in common - a passion for plants and a love of good books.  What a pleasure it was to go to "work" each day!  I had a great time sharing stories, tips, plant passions, and discovering great new books.

My gardening obsession has taken me in a different direction now, but I suspect that I'll find myself missing the regular personal contact with you, so who knows what the future will bring!

                                       Keep in Touch!

Evelyn
